

🌟 Membership Awards Program (MAP) – Launching FY26
The Maine State PTA is excited to introduce the Membership Awards Program (MAP) beginning in Fiscal Year 2026! This new initiative is designed to support and celebrate our local PTA units by setting clear membership growth and retention goals—and rewarding units that meet them.
🎯 Program Highlights: Annual goals for growth and retention set for each local PTA unit. Recognition and awards for units that meet or exceed their goals. Ongoing program with yearly updates based on feedback and evolving needs. May include new recognition opportunities or the removal of outdated ones.
💰 Program Funding: Initial funding provided by the State Capacity Building Grant from National PTA (awarded October 2024). Future funding will come from the Maine State PTA budget or other applicable grants. Stay tuned for more details on how your local unit can participate and be recognized for your amazing work in growing and sustaining PTA membership!

What We Do
The Maine PTA is involved in a wide range of activities and initiatives, including:

Advocacy and Policy: We represent the interests of families and students at the state level, working with policymakers to shape educational policies.

Educational Programs: We offer programs and workshops that address diverse aspects of student development, from academic enrichment to mental health support.

Family Engagement: Our events and resources are designed to help parents and guardians stay informed and engaged with their child's education.

Community Outreach: We partner with local organizations and businesses to support school projects and community initiatives.


Speak Out: Advocating for Every Child
When we unite our voices, we can achieve significant change. The Maine PTA empowers families and community members to engage in advocacy at local, state, and national levels.

Local Action: While PTA units cannot endorse candidates, we can advocate on issues and host meet-the-candidates events. Refer to the National PTA Election Guides for hosting tips and election participation.
